The Second Sunrise Symposium for Drug Metabolism, Pharmacokinetics, and Dynamics (SSDMPD) was organized in School of Pharmaceutical Sciences in year 2016
The Second Sunrise Symposium for Drug Metabolism, Pharmacokinetics, and Dynamics (SSDMPD) was successfully organized in Xiang’an campus, Xiamen University. The three days symposium was hosted by SSDMPD, organized by School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and co-organized by AB SCIEX Pte. Ltd. And Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B. Around 300 participants from universities, research institutes and pharmaceutical companies were involved in the present symposium.
This symposium is featured with non-profit and national academic conference. It presents the state-of-the-art progress of the research on the drug metabolism by the international senior scholars, and provides the platform to exchange knowledge, stimulate interests and explore potentials for the young scholars and students interested in the drug dynamics. Furthermore, the symposium contributes to the sustainable development of disciplines of the Chinese drug metabolism and dynamics.
The symposium is composed of pre-conference research seminar, plenary lectures, parallel lectures, the special session for the young scholars and poster session. In total, 60 lectures are presented including 7 key note speech, 12 themed sessions and 1 session for knowledge exchanges among the young scholars. The topic covers Metabonomics and metabolic regulation, Drug metabolic enzymes and transporter research, New methods and new models of drug metabolism research, Active ingredient treatment and mechanism of herbs, and a work shop was opened for the participants of drug metabolism titled with ‘Based on the Physiological pharmacokinetic model: the applications and fundamental in development of new drugs’.
The opening ceremony was hosted by the co-chair of the conference committee Wu Caisheng from School of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The dean of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Prof. Zhang Xiaokun was present and delivered an address of welcome. The co-chair of the conference committee, Prof. Bi Huichang from School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Sun Yat-sen University, introduced the basic situation of the symposium and gave an opening address.
For the three days symposium, more than 60 internationals scholars presented comprehensive and professional academic lectures. Meanwhile, young scholars major in drug metabolismacquired valuable experience and professional knowledge from the speaking contest and poster session.
Additionally, the SSDMPD was sponsored by: Shanghai AB SCIEX Pte. Ltd., SHIMADZU Corporation (China Branch), Thermo Fisher Scientific (China Branch), Waters Corporation (Shanghai), BIOTREE Corporation, Shiseido Group, Nanjing Galaxy Biopharmaceutical Corporation, BeijingDryas Pharma-Tech Corporation, KG Pharma, Research Institute for Liver Diseases (Shanghai) Corporation, Wuhan Hongren Biopharmaceutical Corporation, ShanghaiTransheep Biotech Corporation and Agilent Technologies. ‘Instrument and lab equipment source’ web portal acted as the specified cooperative media.
The big success of the SSDMPD not only contributes to the knowledge and information exchange among the international experts involved in the drug metabolism, but plays a significant role by establishing a platform to improve the academic exchange among the young scholars, so that the development of DMPK in China is boosted.
