Experience
Fu-nan Li was graduated from the Pharmacy College of Yanbian University and obtained his B.S. of Pharmacy in 1995 and M.S. degree of medicinal chemistry in 2002. From 2005 to 2009, he studied for his Ph.D. degree in medicinal chemistry at the Seoul National University under the direction of professor Young-Ger Suh. His doctoral dissertation was on “design, synthesis, and biological evaluation of novel TRPV1 antagonists”. He joined Xiamen University as an associate professor in the department of medicinal chemistry in 2010.
Research
Current research interests are in the general area of synthetic medicinal chemistry and bioorganic chemistry. Specifically, his laboratory is working on the design, synthesis, and mechanism research of target drugs for the prevention and treatment of alcoholic hepatitis, liver fibrosis, and cirrhosis; the design, synthesis, and mechanism research of anti-tumor drugs; and the research on drug synthesis process and industrialization. Dr. Li has published more than 50 papers in journals such as Cell Chemical Biology, Cell Research, J Med Chem, Eur J Med Chem, Bioorg Med Chem and Chemical Biology & Drug Design, and a U.S. patents and three Chinese patents.
