Shuaidong Huo, Ph.D.
Professor
Experience
Shuaidong obtained his Ph.D. degrees under the supervision of Prof. Xing-Jie Liang at the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology (NCNST), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and Prof. Vincent M. Rotello at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, United States. After obtaining his Ph.D. in 2016, his spirit of adventure drove him to the Zernike Institute for Advanced Materials, the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, and the DWI-Leibniz Institute for Interactive Materials in Aachen, Germany. After more than three-year unforgettable postdoctoral research work with Prof. Andreas Herrmann in polymer chemistry. He received support from the “Nanqiang Outstanding Young Talents Program” (A) and joined the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPS), Xiamen University (XMU) as Professor from 2020.
Research
Developing activity-regulatable (force-sensitive, ultrasound-sensitive, etc.) drugs or drug delivery systems for precise and controllable therapy.
Taking the advantages of nanotechnology to understand the biological effect (NP-cell interaction, NP-bacteria or NP-virus behavior, etc.) of nanomaterials on living systems.
